Team work is essential in many of our school and life’s achievements. We want all of our pupils to strive to work well with others, encouraging and supporting in everything we do. By doing this we ensure that the whole team understands and achieves shared goals.

We ensure that every child at Portland sees the bigger picture and believe that they have the ability to learn and the self assurance to solve problems and overcome difficulties. We encourage all our pupils to understand that with hard work, perseverance we build resilience and in turn the possibilities really are endless.

We believe that new learning takes place when challenges are presented. We tackle these positively and recognise that making a mistake is part of the learning process. We aim to challenge each individual and support them in their own learning journey.
